Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Laurel Lee recently introduced the Combating Online Predators Act, legislation to strengthen federal law by explicitly criminalizing threats to distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM)– also known as sextortion–  a tactic commonly used by online predators to exploit children.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Chris Coons (D-CT) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

TAMPA, FL – Congresswoman Laurel Lee announced a major victory for Florida’s agricultural community after working closely with President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, to ensure the Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) reinstated furloughed employees to process H-2A agricultural visa applications—a critical step to protect Florida’s harvest during the government shutdown.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Laurel Lee announced the introduction of the Frequent Logistics Information for Grounded and Held Travelers (FLIGHT) Act. Senator Rick Scott is leading the companion bill in the Senate. 

This legislation would require airlines to notify passengers when a flight is delayed by more than 15 minutes and provide updated status notifications every 15 minutes thereafter.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Laurel Lee (FL-15) and Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) introduced the Cutting LNG Bunkering Red Tape Act, a bill that codifies a Trump-era Department of Energy (DOE) order clarifying that ship-to-ship transfers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) used as marine fuel—commonly known as LNG bunkering—are not considered exports under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act unless conducted in foreign waters. The bill is referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
