Congressional App Challenge

Congresswoman Laurel Lee is pleased to announce that the 2025 Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage students across the country to participate in computer science and coding, will take place until October 30th, 2025.
Established in 2013 and officially launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, this nationwide effort allows students to compete against their peers by creating an application or "app" for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The challenge is designed to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and encourages students to engage in these fields.
Register, Create, and Submit!
The Congressional App Challenge is open to all students in Florida's 15th Congressional District, either individually or in groups of up to four. Middle and high school students entering the competition must first register and then submit their app on www.CongressionalAppChallenge.us during the Competition Submission Period through October 30th, 2025.
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria: quality of the idea, including creativity and originality; implementation of the idea, including user experience and design; and demonstrated excellence of coding and programming skills.
Submissions will be judged starting November 3rd, 2025. The winner from the 15th Congressional District, chosen by a panel of expert judges, will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us, and the winning app will also be on display in the U.S. Capitol, honoring the winners from across the country, as well as receiving additional prizes.
