Rep. Laurel Lee Statement on Passage of Short-Term Government Funding

November 12, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Laurel Lee issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a short-term funding bill to keep the federal government open:

“Today, the House once again acted to keep the government open — just as we did in September when we first passed a temporary funding bill. Instead of doing the right thing, Senate Democrats hurt families, servicemembers, and federal workers across the country by voting against the same temporary funding bill to shut the government down for over 40 days. Floridians expect steady leadership, not manufactured crises. I’m proud to stand with my Republican colleagues in taking the responsible step to fund the government and provide stability for the American people.”

The short-term funding bill now heads to the President’s desk for his signature.
