Rep. Laurel Lee Questions Attorney General Garland Regarding FISA Abuses

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Laurel Lee (R-FL), questioned Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) abuses of FISA during the Judiciary Committee Hearing entitled, “Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice.”

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, is set to expire at the end of this year. There have been well-documented DOJ abuses of the FISA process, specifically, Section 702 of FISA which allows the government to conduct surveillance of foreign persons living abroad without obtaining a warrant.
